Equinox Straw Console

Equinox Straw Console reflects Tamiati's larger philosophy: meaningful
design emerges through layered collaboration between cultures, disciplines,
and material histories.

The surface incorporates an Ablaq-inspired stone composition, a technique
historically shaped through movement across regions and architectural
traditions. The contrasting marbles becomes a study in rhythm, balance,
and continuity. The wheat straw marquetry is hand-treated and individually
assembled to preserve tonal variation, texture, and irregularity. Instead of
concealing imperfections, the process allows the material to retain evidence
of touch, labour, and natural formation.

Through this convergence of materials and techniques, the console stands as
a quiet expression of how cultures, crafts, and material memories can come
together within a single object.
